OpenAI has reduced the prices of two of its AI models, GPT-5.6 Terra and GPT-5.6 Luna, in response to growing concerns about costs among companies.

The price cuts come just three weeks after the release of these models as part of OpenAI's GPT-5.6 series, which includes Sol, the most powerful model.

Terra's price has been reduced by 20% to $2 per million input tokens and $12 per million output tokens, while Luna's cost is down by 80% to 20 cents per million input tokens and $1.20 per million output tokens.

The move aims to make these models more competitive with other AI offerings on the market, particularly those from Chinese startups like Moonshot AI and tech giants Google and Microsoft.
