OpenSea Brings Back Solana NFTs After Years-Long Absence

OpenSea has finally added support for Solana non-fungible tokens (NFTs) on its platform, allowing users to buy, sell, and trade Solana's digital collectibles. This move comes more than four years after OpenSea first introduced Solana NFTs in beta back in April 2022.

The initial rollout covered only 165 collections but failed to gain significant traction at the time. Rivals Magic Eden and Tensor dominated the Solana NFT market, with Magic Eden shutting its Bitcoin and Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) marketplaces earlier this year to refocus on Solana.

Solana returned to OpenSea in April 2025 through OS2, but only for fungible tokens. The SOL token also became usable as payment for NFTs on other blockchains last year.

'OS2 was rebuilt from the ground up as a multi-chain platform,' an OpenSea representative said. 'We led with Solana token support, and NFTs are now being added.'
