OpenWorld Enters Nasdaq with Institutional-Grade Tokenization Strategy
OpenWorld, a digital-assets company, has completed its business combination with VerifyMe and started trading on the Nasdaq stock exchange under the ticker OPNW from October 1.
The combined company, led by Matthew Shaw, is focusing on institutional-grade tokenization of real-world assets, aiming to help digitize traditional securities, private assets, and blockchain settlement.
Tokenization businesses require more than just smart contracts; they need investor records, compliance controls, transfer restrictions, custody connections, and secondary-market infrastructure, which OpenWorld plans to provide.
The company also intends to pursue a listing on Figure OPEN, a blockchain-based trading platform, by November 2026, marking another step in the convergence of traditional and crypto-native infrastructure.
While the opportunity in tokenization is large, the sector remains messy, with companies needing to prove that blockchain settlement produces a real operational advantage rather than just a new wrapper around existing assets.
