OpenZeppelin, the blockchain security firm recently acquired by S&P Global, has announced a new partnership with Chainlink. The collaboration aims to enhance institutional adoption of onchain finance by integrating Chainlink’s infrastructure into OpenZeppelin’s development tools.
The agreement, revealed on October 20, 2026, brings Chainlink’s Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) and Automated Compliance Engine (ACE) into OpenZeppelin’s suite. This integration allows developers to configure cross-chain token compatibility and compliance controls, including sanctions screening, KYC checks, and Secure Mint. The features are accessible through OpenZeppelin’s Wizards, AI tooling, Skills, and documentation.
The tools support ERC-20 and ERC-3643 tokens, with plans to add future standards. Compliance policies can be updated without redeploying the underlying token contract. OpenZeppelin and Chainlink also plan to introduce three institutional reference solutions in the coming months, combining smart contracts and CRE workflows with deployable code and security considerations.
Initial releases will be available for private evaluation, development, testing, and customer demonstrations. OpenZeppelin has published a Defender-to-CRE migration guide and plans to provide targeted support for eligible teams. The partnership is designed to help institutions build tokenized financial products with integrated compliance controls and connect applications across various blockchains.
