Optimism Ships Op-Node Update to Boost Sequencer Performance
Optimism has released an update to its op-node software, specifically targeting sequencers. The new version, v1.19.8, is recommended for operators using the `, l2.follow.source` configuration.
The release aims to prevent slow block builds around L1-origin transitions and strengthens validation of hardfork activation ordering.
One key change in the update is that sequencers will now prefetch each new L1 head's block and receipts as soon as the head is observed. This should reduce delays caused by the previous reliance on local derivation to fetch required data.
The release also includes stricter checks for custom rollup configurations, preventing invalid upgrade sequences. This is particularly relevant as the OP Stack accumulates more named network upgrades and independent chains use the software.
