Orange Juice Leverages $10M Cash Flow to Buy $30M in Bitcoin
Orange Juice, a venture capital firm co-founded by Nico Lechuga, is making waves in the crypto space with its innovative strategy to acquire cash-flow-positive family businesses and convert their free cash flow into Bitcoin holdings. The plan involves using a 3x leverage ratio to turn $10 million in annual cash flow into $30 million worth of BTC.
The company acquires family businesses that are already profitable and operationally sound, using a blend of cash and equity. Instead of reinvesting those profits into growth or paying them out as dividends, Orange Juice channels the free cash flow into Bitcoin purchases.
Lechuga has emphasized that this structure is designed to remain viable even in declining BTC markets, since the underlying businesses still produce cash regardless of what Bitcoin's price does. He has also noted that Orange Juice won't force growth strategies or restructure the companies it acquires, allowing the businesses to maintain operational independence.
The strategy has already attracted interest from over 100 businesses within its first week of going public, with some calling it a 'Berkshire of Bitcoin.' While the leverage model amplifies returns in both directions, Lechuga's hands-off approach and focus on predictable revenue streams mitigate some of the risk.
