OUSD Stablecoin Launches with Major Backing from Coinbase, Stripe, Visa, and Mastercard

A new stablecoin called OUSD has been launched by Open Standard, backed by several major companies including Coinbase, Stripe, Visa, and Mastercard.

The stablecoin is now available across four blockchains: Ethereum, Solana, Base, and Tempo.

OUSD was issued by Bridge, the stablecoin infrastructure company acquired by Stripe for $1.1 billion in 2024.

The reserves for OUSD are held with BlackRock, Lead Bank, and BNY, with monthly attestations planned.
