Pakistan is yet to secure approval from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for its proposal to offer electricity at concessionary rates to Bitcoin mining operations.

The government had submitted a plan to provide lower electricity rates to Bitcoin miners as part of its broader strategy to develop the digital asset and data center sectors.

The proposal remains unresolved ahead of talks with the IMF, which are scheduled to begin on September 22 for the fourth review of Pakistan's $7 billion Extended Fund Facility program.
