Paxos USDG Stablecoin Expands to Arbitrum with DeFi Integrations
Paxos has launched its USDG stablecoin on Arbitrum, expanding its presence in the decentralized finance (DeFi) space. The Global Dollar stablecoin is now natively issued on Arbitrum One and integrated with several DeFi protocols, including Fluid, Morpho, GMX, and Maple. This move positions Arbitrum as a key settlement and tokenization platform for onchain finance.
Stargate will support transfers of USDG between Arbitrum and other blockchains, enhancing liquidity and arbitrage opportunities. Meanwhile, Kraken will manage deposits and withdrawals, ensuring reliable access to the stablecoin. An ArbitrumDAO proposal suggests allocating 100 million ARB tokens to incentivize USDG adoption and growth, further supporting its integration into the ecosystem.
Arbitrum already holds approximately $4 billion in stablecoins, and USDG is reported as the seventh-largest stablecoin by market capitalization, with around $3.09 billion in circulation. The partnership between Paxos and Arbitrum includes revenue-sharing from USDG activity, which will be directed toward adoption and ecosystem development.
The launch aligns with Arbitrum's broader push toward tokenized real-world assets, following the recent mainnet launch of Robinhood Chain, which is built using Arbitrum. This expansion into tokenized finance could strengthen Arbitrum's role as a hub for onchain financial activities.
