Paxos USDG Stablecoin Launches on Arbitrum with Major DeFi Integrations
Paxos’ Global Dollar (USDG) stablecoin has officially launched on Arbitrum One, marking a significant expansion into the Arbitrum ecosystem. The move brings USDG into the Global Dollar Network with over 12 integrations from day one, including partnerships with Morpho, Fluid, GMX, Uniswap, Kraken, and others. This launch enables users and applications on Arbitrum to access USDG without relying on another blockchain for issuance.
The integrations cover a wide range of use cases. Kraken will support USDG deposits and withdrawals, while Stargate will facilitate cross-chain transfers. Other platforms will integrate USDG into lending, trading, liquidity, and various DeFi activities. Arbitrum highlighted that the stablecoin launch comes at a time when the network already has substantial stablecoin activity, with a total value locked (TVL) of about $3.78 billion and daily trading volume averaging around $300 million.
To further boost USDG adoption, ArbitrumDAO has proposed a 100 million ARB incentive program. This initiative aims to encourage more users and applications to adopt the stablecoin by providing resources to support liquidity and availability across the network. Businesses building with USDG on Arbitrum One can also apply for support from the Arbitrum Foundation.
Arbitrum is also joining the Global Dollar Network, which includes members like Robinhood, Kraken, and OKX. As part of this partnership, Arbitrum will receive a share of rewards generated from USDG activity on the network. According to data from Defillama, USDG has about $3.08 billion in circulation, making it the seventh-largest stablecoin by market capitalization.
