Payout Networks Compared: Speed, Volume, and Cost Efficiency Revealed
A new dataset from NOWPayments has shed light on the performance benchmarks of TRON, BNB Smart Chain, and Solana in handling enterprise payouts. The data analyzed six months of activity across these networks and compared their speed, transaction volume, and cost efficiency.
The results show that Solana recorded the fastest average payout speed at 1 minute and 45 seconds, while accounting for 3.08% of volume and 3.86% of transactions. TRON led in total monetary volume at 43.69%, but BNB Smart Chain handled the largest share of individual payout transactions at 48.23%.
When considering high-frequency payouts, BNB Smart Chain took the lead due to its ability to handle a large number of individual transfers without carrying the largest share of value. However, when looking at higher-value payouts, TRON outperformed with 43.69% of payout volume, more than twice that of BNB Smart Chain's 21.75%.
The data suggests that different networks are better suited for various types of payout patterns, and businesses should consider their specific needs when selecting a network. As Kate Lifshits, Commercial Director at NOWPayments, noted, 'the useful question is not which network tops a leaderboard, it is what a specific payout flow needs to optimize: value, frequency, speed, or cost.'
