PayPal Stablecoin Strategy Gains Momentum with Global Expansion
PayPal's stablecoin strategy has made significant progress as it expands globally and gains more access to blockchain networks. The company reported higher revenue for Q2, beating estimates at $8.68 billion.
The adjusted earnings per share reached $1.38, exceeding the estimated $1.28. Total payment volume increased by 9% on a currency-neutral basis, reaching $486.4 billion.
PYUSD, PayPal's stablecoin, is now available in about 70 markets and has been added to Kraken's network expansion roadmap. However, Kraken has not confirmed immediate trading support for the network.
PayPal excluded an $81 million loss tied to strategic investments and crypto assets from its non-GAAP results, separating market swings from payment performance.
