Payward and Singapore Gulf Bank Team Up to Link Crypto and Banking
Payward, the parent company of major cryptocurrency exchange Kraken, has formed a strategic partnership with Singapore Gulf Bank (SGB) to bridge traditional banking with digital-asset markets. The collaboration aims to enhance infrastructure for deposits, withdrawals, settlements, and cross-border payments, making it easier for institutional and eligible customers to move between fiat currencies and digital assets.
The partnership combines Payward’s expertise in crypto trading and infrastructure with SGB’s banking and payment services. Payward, which operates Kraken and other financial products, seeks to strengthen its banking infrastructure to support its broader digital-asset ecosystem. SGB, a digital-focused bank, gains access to Payward’s technology and industry experience.
This collaboration reflects a broader industry trend where cryptocurrency companies are increasingly integrating with regulated financial institutions. The partnership is not about launching a new product but improving the underlying infrastructure that connects traditional finance with blockchain-based assets. Regulatory compliance remains a key focus, as cross-border transactions require anti-money-laundering and sanctions-screening measures.
For Payward, the partnership strengthens its ability to provide seamless transitions between fiat and digital assets. For SGB, it offers a pathway to deeper involvement in institutional digital assets through Payward’s established infrastructure and market reach.
