Payward Expands On-Chain Trading with Hyperliquid Perpetual Futures for US Clients
Payward, the parent company of Kraken, is expanding its on-chain trading capabilities by deploying perpetual futures markets for US clients. The initial rollout will focus on Hyperliquid HIP-3 markets, which have gained significant attention in recent times.
Hyperliquid, a platform for on-chain perpetual futures, has been operating since 2023 and has become one of the biggest players in the market. According to Payward, DefiLlama figures indicate that Hyperliquid has seen over $200 billion in trading volume in the past 30 days.
The proposed markets will operate on Hyperliquid's public blockchain, where trades are recorded and matched through an on-chain order book. Bitnomial Exchange will act as the HIP-3 deployer, creating and administering the markets, while Bitnomial Clearinghouse will clear and settle contracts under its regulatory framework.
Payward has already reported 6.6 million funded accounts across more than 190 countries and territories, with client assets backed above 100% as of June 30, 2026. The company is looking to create a platform that can be adopted for other products and markets, making more financial products available on-chain.
