Pearl Blockchain Mints 40,000 Blocks in 5.9 Days, Creates Large Token Supply
Pearl (PRL) is a layer-1 blockchain that launched on April 27, 2026, and quickly mined its first 40,000 blocks in just 5.9 days, paying GPU miners for proof of work produced by matrix multiplication inside AI models.
The chain's emission formula pays the most per block at lower heights, resulting in a high reward for early miners. By May 3, the chain had minted 121.70 million PRL, or 38.9% of everything mined through September 15. The maximum supply is capped at 2.1 billion PRL, with 312.72 million already mined by the close.
The fast early blocks put roughly 127 million extra PRL into existence ahead of schedule, about 41% of the total on the books at the close. However, the pace has settled, with blocks averaging around 192.5 seconds since September 7, within 2 seconds of the target.
