PEPE ETF Filing and Technical Breakout Spark Renewed Interest
The PEPE cryptocurrency is drawing fresh attention after Canary amended its filing for a proposed PEPE exchange-traded fund (ETF). This development suggests that crypto investment products are expanding beyond major assets like Bitcoin and Ethereum. The move comes as PEPE also approaches a key technical milestone, breaking a 22-month downtrend after months of accumulation and retesting the breakout area.
According to Bloomberg ETF analyst Eric Balchunas, the amended filing indicates more favorable market conditions for crypto ETF launches. A PEPE ETF could offer investors another way to gain exposure to the token through traditional market infrastructure. However, an amended filing does not guarantee approval or launch, making regulatory approval a crucial factor.
Analysts note that PEPE has broken a weekly trendline running from its all-time high in December 2024, spending many months in an accumulation zone ranging from $0.0000028 to $0.0000040. The cryptocurrency is now retesting the breakout area, with the first target expected at $0.0000072, followed by $0.0000140 and $0.0000268. Crypto Patel, an analyst, also identified a possible target for cycle trade at $0.000051, though this is considered an ambitious prediction.
The future direction of PEPE will depend on both the progress of the ETF proposal and the technical retest of the breakout. Ethereum's performance and the general sentiment of meme coins will also play a role. Investors are closely watching these developments, as the updated ETF filing adds to the institutional story of PEPE, while the trendline breakout provides another reason to monitor the coin.
