Pepe Token Surges 32%, Breaks August Highs, But Overbought Conditions Loom
The Pepe token has broken above its August highs after a sharp 32% price jump in just 24 hours. The token, which has been consolidating between August and early September, rose to $0.00000536 from $0.0000044.
This move also cleared the token's August high of $0.0000046, creating a new higher high and strengthening its broader bullish structure. However, the rally was met with overbought conditions, as evidenced by an RSI reading of 78.09 on TradingView.
The first support level for Pepe stood near $0.0000047, close to the breakout area, and a successful retest could strengthen the move above resistance. On the other hand, a drop below this level could send the token toward $0.0000044, which would weaken the current bullish structure.
The derivatives market for Pepe also saw significant growth, with perpetual open interest increasing by 51.80% to $245.1 million over the last 24 hours. The concentration of positioning on Binance and Bybit suggests that speculation is increasing, but the token will need continued buying activity in the spot market to maintain this leverage.
