Philippines' Discord Ban Sparks Fury Among Web3 Professionals

The Philippine government's decision to block Discord has sparked outrage among local web3 professionals and freelancers, who rely heavily on the platform for their livelihoods.

For Patrik Ferrer, a web3 agency manager, Discord is his primary communication tool. His clients are mostly game companies, whose users make up a significant portion of Discord's user base.

Ferrer's team members depend directly on income generated through client relationships facilitated by Discord. If the platform is permanently blocked, over 30 families will lose their livelihoods, Ferrer warned.
