Phong Le: AI Needs Decentralized Structure Like Bitcoin
Phong Le, CEO of Strategy (MSTR), believes that artificial intelligence could benefit from having a decentralized and non-sovereign structure, similar to Bitcoin. He thinks AI should be open-source and not controlled by a few companies.
In an interview with Natalie Brunell, Le stated that AI is in need of 'the equivalent of Bitcoin', which he defined as a technology that is decentralized, non-sovereign, and not controlled by a few companies. Le sees Strategy at the intersection of AI and Bitcoin through its Bitcoin treasury and software business.
He added that market forces will push even advanced AI models toward open-source, citing Nvidia (NVDA) CEO Jensen Huang and Elon Musk as examples who have called for AI not to be controlled by a small group of companies. Le expressed optimism about the technology, stating that it will make humans more intelligent.
