Pi Network Jumps on Major Updates, Open Interest Hits 2-Month High
Pi Network (PI) has made significant strides after completing major Know Your Customer (KYC) and mainnet updates, unlocking access for nearly one million users who were previously unable to progress.
The network resolved two issues: duplicate KYC accounts and migration for users with fast-track wallets. Pi Network improved the process used to identify possible duplicate KYC accounts after some accounts were falsely flagged for possible duplication, allowing over 417,000 users to continue with the KYC process.
The network also said that 497,000 users who received their mainnet wallet using the Fast-Track process and could not access their migration balance will be able to do so after a mainnet migration improvement. The two updates come days after Pi Network completed the v27 upgrade that marked the final planned upgrade on the blockchain.
Data from Coinalyze shows that the open interest for Pi Network price has increased from $23.77 million on September 16 to $36.49 million at the time of writing, per Coinalyze data. PI's OI reading is now at its highest point since July 2026, suggesting that the speculative demand for Pi Coin is high.
