Share

The Pi Network token rose over 5% in price on August 12 after the Protocol 26 upgrade deadline passed without incident. The upgrade is intended to improve smart contract safety, state management, and interoperability, as well as prepare the network for the final planned protocol update sequence.

According to crypto.news, the Pi Network (PI) price climbed more than 5% to approach $0.090 on August 12, while trading activity increased by about 35%. The token traded near $0.0883 at the time of writing after giving back part of its intraday advance.

The move followed the Aug. 11 deadline for Mainnet node operators to complete the Protocol 26 upgrade. While no widespread network disruption had been reported, the Pi Core Team has not published figures showing how many operators completed the upgrade.
