Pi Network Price Holds Firm Ahead of Crucial Upgrade
The Pi Network price remained steady at $0.0886 on September 28, ahead of its scheduled Protocol 28 Mainnet upgrade set for October 16. The broader crypto market experienced a decline of 2.72% over 24 hours, with leveraged positions unwinding and traders taking profits.
The Pi Network began testing Protocol 28 after completing its Protocol 27 Mainnet upgrade on September 25. Node operators must install the newer version by October 13 to ensure a smooth transition to the planned October 16 Mainnet activation.
Protocol 28 aims to improve how the network handles delays in transaction data and enables the post-deployment of groups of smart contracts, providing developers with increased flexibility when developing and managing services on Pi. This upgrade also allows for three days between the software deadline and roll out of Mainnet.
