Pi Network Utility: A Layered Approach to Real-World Adoption
Pi Network is a cryptocurrency project that has grown to tens of millions of users since its inception. However, having a large community does not necessarily translate to real-world utility. The project's whitepaper outlines four layers where the network sees opportunities for real utility: consensus, shared attention, shared data, and decentralized applications.
The Pi Stack is designed to build on each other, with consensus providing the foundation and attention, data, and applications showing day-to-day utility. The project aims to let its members pool their collective time and attention to capture a share of the value they create, rather than large corporations taking it all.
Pi's usefulness depends entirely on what people can do with it once they hold it. The clearest Pi token use cases sit inside the app ecosystem itself: paying for goods and services through Pi-enabled merchants, using Pi inside third-party apps built on the network, and transacting through the Pi Browser.
