$PI Surges as PayPal Supports Pi Network, But Is It Officially Confirmed?
The Pi Network has been making waves in the crypto community, and this week is no exception. PayPal has reportedly opened its 'Pay with Crypto' program to include $PI, placing it alongside other popular cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, Ethereum, Dogecoin, Shiba Inu, Solana, and Ondo.
However, while pioneers are welcoming the update, one detail keeps the story unfinished: PayPal still hasn't shown up on $PI's official business verification list. This has sparked a debate among Pi Network enthusiasts about whether PayPal's support for $PI is officially confirmed or not.
The issue lies in the KYB (Know Your Business) listing process, which is essential for verifying new integrations with the Pi Network. According to records, only verified platforms like OKX and MEXC are listed on the official registry at minepi.com/kyb-list. PayPal's absence from this list has raised questions about the legitimacy of its $PI support.
Some argue that KYB was built to vet platforms that let people buy or sell $PI directly, and since PayPal's 'Pay with Crypto' feature works more like a spending tool than an exchange, it may fall outside what KYB was meant to cover. Others claim that absence from the KYB list means unverified, full stop, and until either company confirms it directly, treating the integration as settled fact risks spreading incomplete or wrong information.
