Pi Token Plunges 14% After Protocol v27 Upgrade
Pi Network's native token PI has plummeted nearly 14% to around $0.0808 after the launch of its highly anticipated Protocol v27 upgrade.
The sharp sell-off came as a result of heavy selling in the broader crypto market following the CLARITY Act's failure to advance in the U.S. Senate and a 'sell-the-news' reaction from traders who bought PI ahead of the upgrade.
The price fall has added to concerns around PI, which is now about 97.2% below its all-time high price.
The Protocol v27 upgrade aimed to bring more flexible smart contract authentication and add infrastructure for automated market maker (AMM) liquidity pools and Pi's planned decentralized exchange.
