Pixels Enters Next Chapter After Multiple Game Award Wins
Pixels, a popular crypto game on Ronin, is heading into its next chapter. The game's developer has announced that Pixels is entering a new phase after earning multiple Game Awards, but no further details have been shared about what this means for the game or its players.
The game switched to Ronin in February 2024 and quickly gained traction, with the developer claiming it had crossed 1 million daily active users. In May, Ronin completed its migration from an Ethereum sidechain to a full OP Stack layer 2, which carried around 10 hours of mainnet downtime.
The team behind Pixels has been building outside the game as well, releasing Stacked on Ronin, a rewards app that allows players to run missions across multiple games and earn rewards in one place. The studio sees Pixels as a user-acquisition engine for other titles, with a platform of experimental games orbiting the flagship.
Ronin has credited Pixels with helping bring Web3 gaming back in 2024, and the network is now aiming to become 'the gamification engine of Ethereum.'
