Pogun Tackles Bitcoin's $1.6 Trillion DeFi Idle Liquidity Problem
Cardano's CEO Charles Hoskinson has revealed that his platform Pogun is working to tackle the problem of idle liquidity in Bitcoin DeFi. According to him, around 83% to 95% of the $1.6 trillion deposited liquidity in major DeFi networks remains unutilized at any given time.
This happens because Bitcoin lacks a programmable and trust-minimized financial infrastructure that can deploy idle BTC into key financial applications without requiring holders to give up control.
Pogun, which has already secured $600 million in funding commitments, aims to change this by providing a platform for users to utilize their idle liquidity. The project is currently in its development phase and is expected to be fully deployed in Q4 of the year or early 2027.
