Polygon Burns 100 Million Tokens, Boosting Buying Momentum
Polygon's POL token has just seen its circulating supply decrease by about 1% after the permanent burn of 100 million tokens. This reduction was made possible by a new burn mechanism that sends tokens from network fees to a dead address, directly lowering circulating supply and increasing scarcity for holders.
The burn has driven buying momentum, with POL trading above its key moving averages and gaining 7.25% on the day. The current price is $0.1102, with a projected range of $0.1062 to $0.1148 over the next few trading days.
Polygon Foundation CEO Sandeep Nailwal confirmed the burn, which marks a significant step in reducing supply and supporting the asset's value. With multiple indicators signaling buy conviction, POL is expected to consolidate before potentially breaking out above resistance.
