Polygon Launches Network-Powered Staking Yield at 7.7 Percent
Polygon's network has been upgraded to offer staking rewards to holders of POL (MATIC) tokens. According to CEO Sandeep Nailwal, PIP-92 has gone live, enabling a 7.7 percent staking yield powered by priority fees generated by network activity.
This update leverages network fees to enhance staking rewards for POL token holders, making it more attractive to participate in the Polygon ecosystem.
Nailwal had previously highlighted the adoption of Polygon by major brands and crypto platforms earlier this year. He also confirmed that 100 million POL tokens, about 1% of the supply, were permanently burned as part of ongoing updates to Polygon's token and network structure.
