Polygon Labs has announced plans to acquire crypto payments firm Coinme and wallet infrastructure provider Sequence for more than $250 million. The acquisition is expected to close in Q2 2026, pending regulatory approval.

The combination of these two companies will create a regulated end-to-end platform for moving money between traditional financial systems and blockchain rails. This includes an extensive licensed cash on-ramp network spanning over 40,000 U.S. retail locations, accessible via API from Coinme.

Polygon's Open Money Stack aims to close the gap in infrastructure that has held back the development of fintech super apps in the U.S. A super app bundles multiple financial services into a single user experience, such as WeChat in China and Revolut in Europe.
