Pompliano Doubles Down on Bitcoin Safe Haven Narrative Amid Iran Tensions
Anthony Pompliano believes that Bitcoin is about to demonstrate its 'safe haven' credentials as geopolitical tensions between the U.S. and Iran approach a critical 60-day mark.
In an interview on CNBC's Squawk Box, Pompliano stated that in the 'last seven financial crises' since 2020, Bitcoin lagged but outperformed cash, stocks, gold, and treasuries around 60 days.
Pompliano also emphasized that this pattern suggests Bitcoin's response to macro shocks may be delayed, as investors first rotate into traditional safe havens before reallocating.
Meanwhile, Bloomberg Intelligence Strategist Mike McGlone warned that copper and Bitcoin underperformance versus the S&P 500 could signal weakening risk appetite and rising macro pressure.
