Porsche Shuts Down Web3 Project After Nearly Four Years
Porsche has brought its Web3 project and PIONΞERS CIRCLE to an end after nearly four years. The initiative, which began as a way for Porsche to connect with the digital world through NFTs, evolved into a community that spanned both digital and physical experiences.
The company's 911 NFT collection, launched in December 2022, allowed buyers to choose between three design paths: Performance, Heritage, and Lifestyle. Each NFT initially cost 0.911 ETH, and holders were meant to play a role in shaping their digital artwork while receiving access to experiences tied to Porsche and the PIONΞERS CIRCLE community.
However, the project faced difficulties shortly after launch, with the mint facing criticism over its launch and the collection's floor price falling below its 0.911 ETH mint price. Porsche later acknowledged that the mint had a difficult start but continued developing the project, focusing on holders who remained in the PIONΞERS CIRCLE.
The company will retain the history of interactions through an archived Discord server and thanked participants for their contributions during the project's run.
