Privacy Coins Surge 213%, Led by Zcash's Explosive Growth
The crypto sector focused on privacy has seen remarkable growth since Bitcoin's October 2025 peak. According to Wise Crypto, this sector has climbed 213% during that time period, despite BTC remaining below its high of $75,834.00.
One asset in particular, Zcash (ZEC), is driving the gains in the privacy sector. It accounts for roughly 62% of the combined market cap and has increased by a factor of 25 over the past year.
Zcash's market-cap ranking has risen from #82 to #9 on CoinGecko data. Its growth has been so significant that Grayscale's Zcash ETF, ticker $ZCSH, crossed $500 million in assets within two weeks of launch.
Monero (XMR), the second-largest asset in the privacy category, has approximately doubled over the same stretch despite facing delistings from several exchanges. However, not everyone is convinced that this rally is justified.
