ProCap Sells 50 Bitcoin to Fund Record Share Buyback
ProCap Financial has continued its share buyback program by selling 50 Bitcoin to fund the purchase of shares. This transaction is part of ProCap's strategy to repurchase stock when it trades below the net asset value (NAV) of the company's holdings, which in this case is primarily Bitcoin. The sale reduced ProCap's Bitcoin holdings to approximately 5,305 BTC, but its cumulative share buybacks now equal around 10% of outstanding shares.
The company has been using share buybacks since December 2025 and has previously repurchased large quantities of stock when its value was 25-35% below NAV. The most recent transaction is notable for being one of the largest, with ProCap selling about 50 Bitcoin to fund a share buyback worth more than 2% of its outstanding stock.
The value of ProCap's assets remains closely tied to the performance of Bitcoin, which recently climbed above $81,200. This surge in price supports the company's crypto treasury and provides a stable valuation for its shares.
