Pump.fun (PUMP) Surges 15% on Boost Mode and Strong Revenue
Pump.fun (PUMP) has seen a significant surge in price over the past 25 hours, increasing by around 15%. This move is largely attributed to four key catalysts: the introduction of the BOOST mode buyback mechanism, the absorption of a large vesting unlock instead of dumping it on the market, strong protocol revenue and usage compared to peers, and reflexive speculative trading following a technical breakout and altcoin rotation.
The BOOST mode mechanism is designed to recycle 'dead liquidity' from new coins launched on the platform into token buybacks and burns. This has led to increased trading volume, with over $178.56M in 24-hour volume, up roughly 214% versus the prior day. The introduction of this mechanism has been seen as a key factor in offsetting selling pressure after the major vesting event.
Another contributing factor is the strong revenue and usage generated by Pump.fun's platform. The launchpad has generated around $7.5M in 7-day revenue, surpassing decentralized exchange Hyperliquid's $7.31M over the same period. This has helped build a narrative that PUMP could support high protocol revenue and ongoing buybacks if usage persists.
The recent price action also coincides with a technical breakout around key resistance levels. Multiple analyses point to PUMP reclaiming and testing the $0.00190 level as support and the $0.00210-0.00226 region as the main resistance band.
