Pump.fun Regains Memecoin Launchpad Top Spot
The memecoin launchpad wars have seen a new leader emerge as Pump.fun reclaimed its top spot in 24-hour revenue, surpassing Pons. According to recent data, Pump.fun posted $1.23 million in fees within a single 24-hour window, edging out Pons that had briefly taken the crown earlier this year.
Pons' rise was swift, launching on July 13, 2026, and leveraging Robinhood Chain's layer-2 network to minimize gas costs for users. Its creator incentive structure further amplified its success, offering token creators 70% of a 1% trading fee on every transaction involving their token.
However, Pump.fun's long-term strategy has proven resilient, with over $1.2 billion in cumulative revenue since its launch in January 2024. The platform continues to use a bonding-curve model for token launches and runs a buyback-and-burn program for its PUMP token, using protocol revenue to purchase tokens from the open market.
