Pump.fun Unveils Near-Zero-Fee Trading App for Token Distribution

Pump.fun's co-founder Alon Cohen has outlined the platform's vision for a near-zero-fee app designed to boost token distribution on Solana. The fee structure effectively rounds to zero on Solana trades, with crosschain trades sitting at roughly 0.1%. This move is aimed at making trading so cheap that fees no longer deter users from buying tokens.

Cohen emphasized that the platform's goal is not to wall off competing ecosystems but rather to provide a level playing field for all tokens. Users should be able to trade 'any opportunity onchain,' regardless of which chain or launchpad minted the token.

The platform has already implemented a creator fee-sharing system, announced in January 2026, which allows token creators to split fees among up to 10 wallets. This move is intended to rebalance incentives so that building on Pump.fun feels financially rewarding for project creators, not just the platform itself.
