Pyth Network Breaks Out 25% Amid Oracle Competition and Social Trading Frenzy
Pyth Network (PYTH) surged 25% over the last 24-25 hours following a technical breakout from its multi-month base. According to CoinMarketCap, this move is attributed to a clean chart breakout after months of accumulation, rather than a single fresh fundamental announcement.
The recent oracle network deprecation by Switchboard on September 23, 2026, has strengthened the narrative that Pyth will gain share as other oracles step back. Several Solana DeFi protocols, including Kamino, Jito, MarginFi, and Drift, have been urged to migrate to alternatives like Pyth Network and RedStone.
Additionally, a detailed exchange research note highlighted that Pyth Pro's annual recurring revenue had already passed $10.4 million in August 2026, and the PYTH price had reclaimed the $0.06 area, building a higher base.
Social trading momentum and leverage also contributed to the surge, with several influencer-style accounts posting about the move from around $0.042 to about $0.086, calling it more than 2x from the lower range.
