Pyth Network's API Overhaul Freezes Unpatched Smart Contracts Across 300 DeFi Protocols
Pyth Network's recent API overhaul has caused concerns for developers and users of its Hermes price-delivery service. The change, which took effect on August 26 at 16:00 UTC, requires direct callers to use an API key or update their authentication configuration.
The migration guide provided by Pyth states that protocols integrating the oracle do not need to take action if they already have it set up. However, those who use the Hermes service directly will need to obtain an API key and pass it as a bearer token or SDK access token.
Pyth warned that incomplete migrations can cause issues with contract generation, leading to failure in verifying price updates.
