QQQ Struggles at 52-Week High as Macro Headwinds Bite
The Nasdaq-100, as represented by the QQQ ETF, has been struggling to break through its 52-week high of $748.65. The ETF recently pulled back -1.98% to $733.23 after a sharp drop from just two sessions ago, when it reached $748.34.
Analysts attribute this pullback to macro-driven headwinds, including inflation concerns due to crude oil prices holding above $100/barrel and Treasury yields hovering near 5%. The Federal Reserve's recent rate hike has also added to the pressure, with the median 2026 year-end rate target sitting at roughly 4.1%.
However, institutional investors are actively building new positions into this dip, with $165.9 million in 24-hour Binance spot volume and open interest surging 11.54% in the last 24 hours to over $81.5 million in notional value.
