Quant (QNT) Cools After Rally What Comes Next
Quant (QNT) has experienced a sharp rally to $374 in late September, but the momentum has since faded. Analyst Sebastian noted that the jump to $374 was strong, supported by high trading volume. However, the price has since dropped to around $195 and is now hovering around $250, with trading volume declining.
At the time of analysis, QNT was trading at approximately $256.34, up 1.92% for the day. The price was close to its short-term moving averages: $256.31 for the five-period average and $251.64 for the 10-period average. The longer-term 30-period average stood at around $224.95. Sebastian observed that the move does not resemble a crash but follows a typical pattern after a major rally, where initial buying slows and fresh buyers are needed to sustain the upward trend.
One positive sign for QNT buyers is the token’s negative funding rate, which stood at around -0.21%. This indicates that traders betting on a price decline are paying those betting on a price increase. However, Sebastian cautioned that negative funding alone is not enough to drive QNT higher, as the market still needs fresh buyers. Open interest, measuring the number of active futures positions, has remained stable, suggesting few new traders are entering the market.
The $250 area is identified as a critical support zone for Quant. If QNT remains above $250, $252, the current upward trend remains intact, with potential for a recovery toward $280, $300. A break below the 10-period moving average would weaken the setup, while a drop below $225 would signal a deeper decline. Sebastian expects QNT to trade sideways or cool further rather than quickly reclaim its $374 high. Other analysts, such as The Crypto Authority, share this view, noting that QNT is trading within a tightening triangle with potential outcomes ranging from a bullish breakout to a bearish breakdown.
