Quant (QNT) Soars on Banking Tokenization Deals and Technical Breakout
Quant (QNT) has experienced a significant surge of approximately 16% in its value over the past day, driven by major banking tokenization deals and a technical breakout. The Clearing House (TCH), a key US bank-owned payments utility, has chosen Quant's technology for its new U.S. On-Chain Money Initiative, which aims to allow banks to clear tokenized deposit transactions over existing TCH rails such as RTP and CHIPS.
The rollout is targeted for the first half of 2027. This development marks an escalation from pilots into large-scale US infrastructure work, with multiple analysts on X attributing the sudden move to this deal. The market is re pricing QNT as the token most directly linked to a real-world tokenized deposits system for large US banks.
At almost the same time, a UK initiative went live, using Quant's stack for tokenized sterling deposits over shared infrastructure developed by Quant. Major UK banks completed the first live customer payments using tokenized sterling deposits, with participants including Barclays, HSBC UK, Lloyds Banking Group, Monzo, Nationwide, NatWest, and Santander.
The pilot represents tokenized versions of existing commercial bank deposits, preserving current legal protections while adding programmability and faster settlement. Traders see two of the most conservative parts of global finance choosing Quant's stack for tokenized deposits at roughly the same time, which can justify a rapid repricing.
