Quant Surges Past $100 on Banking News Boost
Quant's price surged past $100 after UK and U.S. banking news bolstered an already rising market narrative, but this advance cannot be attributed solely to the announcements.
The news may have accelerated the rally, but it did not start from zero; QNT had already risen from a $60-$65 base toward the low $70s before those releases.
UK Finance said Barclays, HSBC UK, Lloyds Banking Group, Monzo, Nationwide, NatWest, and Santander completed live tokenized-deposit transactions using Quant infrastructure in the UK, while The Clearing House selected Quant for its On-Chain Money Initiative in the U.S., which aims to connect with established payment rails.
While these developments make Quant's bank-infrastructure case more tangible, several commercial questions remain unanswered, including adoption and transaction volume. Repeatability is key: more transactions, broader bank participation, and clearer commercial disclosures are needed to assess the durability of this story.
