QuFi Unveils Post-Quantum Verification Platform for Digital Assets
QuFi Network has launched a platform that provides post-quantum verification for digital assets without requiring immediate upgrades to existing blockchain settlement layers. The core idea is to add a separate verification step that uses post-quantum cryptography, leaving the underlying networks to continue settling transactions in their current forms.
The platform comes with uBTC, a proof-of-concept applying the verification approach to Bitcoin. uBTC runs on Bitcoin Testnet and verifies BTC collateral, producing cryptographic proofs that govern how value moves between settlement environments. Final redemptions settle as standard Bitcoin transactions.
QuFi's platform separates transaction verification from on-chain settlement, using a dedicated network of nodes for post-quantum checks. The company has chosen three post-quantum cryptographic standards, ML-DSA-65, SLH-DSA, and ML-KEM-1024, for signatures and key exchange.
This approach aims to reduce the practical friction associated with adopting post-quantum cryptography directly at the blockchain protocol level. QuFi's stated motivation is that larger post-quantum signatures and related cryptographic operations can increase storage, bandwidth, and computation requirements when deployed inside individual blockchains.
