Radiant Technology Corp Set to Open Crypto Mining Business in South Sioux City

Share

A new crypto mining business is set to open in South Sioux City, Nebraska by the end of this year. The company, Radiant Technology Corp, will be located in an industrial zoned area adjacent to an electric substation and is expected to generate $800,000 in annual revenues for the city.

Crypto mining involves using powerful computers to verify transactions, secure a decentralized network, and release new digital coins into circulation, according to Radiant Technology Corp's website.

South Sioux City City Manager Lance Hedquist stated that he does not anticipate the city council debating regulations regarding future data center requests in the near future. Kearney, another Nebraska community, has passed a zoning ordinance for data centers, which includes restrictions on noise, water consumption, and energy use.
