Raiffeisen Bank International Expands Bitcoin Services Across Europe
Raiffeisen Bank International, a major Austrian banking group, is expanding its partnership with Bitpanda to roll out bitcoin trading across its network in 11 Central and Eastern European countries. This move will make bitcoin available to approximately 18.8 million customers.
The new agreement marks a shift from separate integrations for each market to a single approach for the entire group. The deal builds on an existing arrangement that began in Austria, where Raiffeisen Landesbank Niederösterreich-Wien (RLB NÖ-Wien) became the first traditional bank in the European Union to offer crypto trading within its banking environment using Bitpanda's technology.
Bitpanda Enterprise provides a suite of services including investment infrastructure, liquidity, custody, payments, stablecoins, and tokenisation. The partnership underscores growing demand for cryptocurrencies among established banks and aligns with broader industry moves by institutions such as BBVA, Openbank, and others.
