Raoul Pal Sees Crypto Rally Potential as Dollar Weakens
Real Vision founder Raoul Pal suggests that a weakening US dollar could provide a boost to the crypto market, potentially extending its rally. In an interview with Cointelegraph, Pal noted that higher bond yields and a strong dollar are currently restricting liquidity flows. He emphasized that a lower dollar could act as a "green light" for further crypto movement, though he remains cautious about making overly optimistic predictions.
Pal believes that Bitcoin may miss out on economic activity driven by AI agents, which he expects to flow instead to smart contract platforms like Ethereum and Solana. He highlighted that AI agents could use stablecoins for payments, with Coinbase facilitating these transactions through its x402 protocol. Pal also suggested that AI agents might raise funds by issuing tokens to support various projects.
While Pal sees potential in both Ethereum and Solana, he cautioned against assuming that Solana will surpass Ethereum in market value anytime soon. He pointed out that Ethereum has significantly higher capital concentration in decentralized finance protocols, though Solana boasts more active addresses. Pal compared the networks using "economic density," noting that Ethereum attracts more capital relative to its user base, whereas Solana's activity involves smaller amounts.
Despite his enthusiasm for crypto, Pal has refrained from giving public price targets, describing a million-dollar Bitcoin by 2030 as a "meme." He acknowledged that such a scenario is plausible by 2032, given Bitcoin's growing adoption and use as collateral.
