Raoul Pal sees weakening dollar as green light for crypto rally
Raoul Pal, founder of Real Vision, believes that a weakening US dollar could provide a boost to the crypto market, potentially extending its current rally. He notes that higher bond yields and a strong dollar are currently restricting liquidity flow, but a lower dollar could act as a "green light" for further crypto movements. However, Pal remains cautious, stating that he hasn't given a full green light to all crypto assets.
Pal predicts that Bitcoin may miss out on the economic activity generated by AI agents, which is likely to benefit smart contract platforms like Ethereum and Solana. He highlights that while Bitcoin saw a significant rally between August 19 and August 25, AI-related stocks like Nvidia experienced a decline, suggesting a rotation of capital from AI to crypto.
The introduction of AI agents capable of paying for web content using stablecoins through Amazon Web Services could further drive activity towards Ethereum and Solana. Pal suggests that these agents might issue tokens to fund projects, potentially increasing adoption of these smart contract platforms. However, he remains skeptical about Solana overtaking Ethereum in market value, citing Ethereum's greater concentration of capital and higher economic density.
Pal has stopped giving public price targets but acknowledges the possibility of Bitcoin reaching a million dollars by 2032, attributing this to growing adoption, ETF interest, and Bitcoin's use as collateral.
