RBI and Bitpanda Expand Crypto Services Across 18M-Strong Network
Raiffeisen Bank International (RBI) is expanding its cryptocurrency trading partnership with Bitpanda across its vast network in Central and Eastern Europe. The deal, announced on September 23, will see Bitpanda Enterprise power crypto services for RBI's 18 million customers.
The framework allows each bank to decide what they offer and when, taking into account local market conditions and regulations. RBI CEO Michael Höllerer notes that demand for cryptocurrencies is growing across the bank's markets, and Bitpanda is the chosen partner to meet this demand.
Austria was the first country to launch the service in 2024, and next year will see it expand to Albania, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia. This partnership marks a significant step for RBI, which is known as a traditional banking institution, to offer cryptocurrency trading services through its existing channels.
