RBI and Bitpanda Unite to Bring Crypto Services to 18 Million European Customers
Bitpanda and Raiffeisen Bank International (RBI) have formed a partnership to create a common digital asset framework for RBI's Central and Eastern European banking network. The framework has the potential to bring crypto services within reach of up to 18 million customers across the region.
Bitpanda will provide the underlying crypto infrastructure, while individual RBI network banks will decide their product offerings and rollout plans based on local market and regulatory requirements. This approach is similar to a model already used by Raiffeisen banks in Austria, where customers can access digital assets through their existing banking services.
RBI operates subsidiary banks across 11 Central and Eastern European markets, making the framework potentially far-reaching. Participating institutions will be able to introduce digital asset services when local regulatory and operating conditions allow, using Bitpanda Enterprise as the common infrastructure layer behind their customer offerings.
